KIMCIPEDES.COM, JAKARTA | Minister of National Development Planning attended Ministerial Meeting which held physically at Saleh Afif Building, Bappenas, Thursday, 10/06/2021.
The topic was discussed in the meeting were the review of the achievement of economic growth targets and GDP per capita and the obstacles faced, and steps to ensure the achievement of targets in 2024.
2022 is the key to economic recovery with a growth target of 5.2-5.8 percent. To achieve this higher economic growth, the government plans priority programs.
Priority programs to support growth from the expenditure side include programs to boost investment performance through digital transformation, improvement of infrastructure and supporting utility sectors, and development of renewable energy.
Meanwhile, in terms of exports through the operation of smelters, the use of trade agreements, integrated management of MSMEs, strengthening of business guarantees for farmers and fishermen. From the consumption side, through social media reform, health system reform, food estate, maintaining stability in staple food prices.
From the production side, priority programs to support growth include programs to boost performance in four sectors. First, the manufacturing industry through the operation of priority industrial areas and smelters, utilization of Industry 4.0 in priority sub-sectors, and acceleration of renewable energy-producing industries and energy conservation.
Second, agriculture through the implementation of food estates, revitalization of ponds in the shrimp and milkfish production centers, and revitalization of smallholder plantations. Third, the construction sector through digital transformation, development of proper sanitation infrastructure, and construction of urban flats.
Fourth, the trade sector through the integrated management of MSMEs, strengthening business guarantees and 350 farmer and fisherman corporations, as well as improving the logistics system.
During the meeting, the Minister said that extraordinary efforts were needed to restore the trajectory of economic growth in accordance with the target.
"The need for acceleration of economic growth through redesign of economic transformation and structural reforms," said the Minister.
The Minister also assessed that government's role was crucial in overseeing the process of economic recovery and transformation towards higher levels of productivity.
"Ministries and Institutions are agents of change in implementing economic transformation and structural reforms, and development is more directed to Central and Eastern Indonesia," said the Minister.
